The Search For The Best Albums of 2009: 1/3 Report

We're four months into 2009. Weird, no? Seems like I was just popping the cork from a bottle of fake champagne and pretending to care about the ball dropping Time's Square. These four months have also produced a pretty good array of music, so I figured I'd post a list of nominees that will eventually be incorporated into our search's full list and eventual list.

. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
. Mastodon - Crack the Skye
. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest (I mean... no! It hasn't come out yet!)
. Franz Ferdinand - Tonight: Franz Ferdinand (SUPREMELY UNDERRATED!)
. The Thermals - Now We Can See
. DOOM - Born Like This
. Neko Case - Middle Cyclone
. M. Ward - Hold Time
. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - It's Blitz
. Bat For Lashes - Two Suns
. Dan Auerbach - Keep It Hid
. Black Lips - 200 Million Thousand
. Bill Callahan - Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle
. Morrissey - Year Of Refusal
. Casiotone For The Painfully Alone - Vs. Children
. The Felice Brothers - Yonder Is The Clock
. DM Stith - Heavy Ghost
. Dan Deacon - Bromst
. Andrew Bird - Noble Beast

OH MY GAWAWAWAWAWD. I read about KoolThingzzz on Mr. Troy Reimink's blog, and I had to check it out.

I've been meaning to post this for awhile, but for the final 2009 post, I'd like to see Micachu & the Shapes and Dent May and His Magnificent Ukulele.

Also, where's "March of the Zapotec/Holland"? Ay, it's not to late! The year is not yet 1/3 done!
